DTF printing uses heat to press ink onto the surface of the garment. The fabric surface plays a major role in how the finished print looks and wears. Smoother fabrics generally produce sharper detail, while rough or heavily textured materials can produce less even results.
Cotton works very well with DTF printing. Its smooth surface supports bold, detailed prints, making 100% cotton T-shirts some of the most reliable options in our catalog.
Polyester also works well, especially for athletic and performance apparel. DTF sits on the surface of the fibers, allowing the print to remain vibrant.
Cotton-polyester blends and triblends can work well, but results vary depending on fabric texture and color. Smoother blends generally provide the most consistent printing surface.
Fleece hoodies and sweatshirts can produce strong DTF results. Seams, pockets, zippers, and other raised areas can interfere with placement, so flat printing areas are preferred.
Ribbed, waffle-knit, highly textured, or stretchy fabrics may distort prints or affect durability. We do not offer DTF printing on products that are not suitable for the process.
